A really nice lift – and I can see it is made by the gone “Medway’s Safety Lift Co.” of London (UK). The company was bought by J. & E. Hall of Dartford in 1925. In the first years after the takeover, the name “Medway’s” was still used as a sales-brand for lifts. From the early 1930ies on, all lifts were manufactured and installed under the name of J. & E. Hall. Medway’s was founded as the Albert Lift Works in 1880 and taken over in about 1901 by Matthew Thomas Medway, who had assigned some patents for the Albert Lift-Works before. (Everything as far as I recall…)

If the lift doesn’t get salvaged, I hope at least some of it’s components do.

Have a passenger elevator rot iron construction. Dome roof, and sissor gate entrance. I have pictures if still interested. Build in 1924 in Pennsyvania, shipped to San Francisco and installed in a hotel (unknown name. I was told the hotel suffered structual damage. The elevator was removed and shipped to San Diego and installed in the Harbor View Inn in 1927. used succesfully until remove by me in 2007. I recovered the Cab before sent it for scrap. Have some original car and hall call buttons,Need more info just ask.
